Milo Kilgannon

Before I talk about my experience in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, I would like to thank those who sponsored my trip and I am forever grateful to them as it was truly a once in a lifetime experience and helped me get a deeper understanding on European politics.

I during this trip I also met a bunch of new people who in the three days would become close friends so socially it is also a wonderful experience as well

After all of the travelling after arriving in Strasbourg the night before we were all up early on the 4th of December

The topic of discussion this year was cyber security, and I was honoured with the opportunity to ask a question in the hemicycle and was also able to vote on many different topics after the debating segment, which was also amazing and help develop the skills to discuss my options as well as defend them. I felt that this gave me a wider understanding of what it means to be an MP and the skills needed for the profession.

I would also like to thank the brilliant supervisors from Graduate.ie, whom organised the trip in a brilliant way with the perfect mix of fun and education and took amazing care of us all. So, thank you Martin, Nora and Aiden. It wouldn’t have been possible without you all.

And with that it is the end of my report. Truly a life changing trip and I feel like later down the road I may look into politics more, amazing trip that engages our youth and includes them in discussions that affects them directly and gives them a voice on the matters

Forever grateful, Milo
